cattle stop on lindis pass and WATW

I have had countless 'I'd-never-see that-in Kansas' moments since I moved to
New Zealand and this is definitely one of them.
We were in the South Island  earlier this year on a major 'highway' (yes, most
roads are 2 lane) in central Otago mountains and saw cattle stops along the Lindis Pass.

I know you have things to share from your part of the world, and we would love to see it--that one photo that doesn't fit with any others, one moment that will never come again--so, link up below by clicking the blue button that says 'add your link'.

After you link up, you can visit other corners of the world by visiting the blogs that are linked up.

Come on! You know you want to!

They should alternate with burger joints and steak houses. Nah, maybe dairy bars.

In our part of the country, South Dakota, the Beef State, these things are called "cattle guards." Yes, we do sometimes see cattle on the roads.

LOL - What are the cattle grates doing in the middle of the major roadway.

We had a cattle drive almost take out our driver's side window in Central America. But, on a dirt road.

Oh my goodness, the last time I saw cattle on the road driven by the owner was in the 70ties in Eastern Europe (still Communistic then!)

Cattle grids on a main road, something you will also find in Australia.

Cattle grids is always a reminder to the driver that cattle on roads is very probably... even on windy mountain roads.
